12. City of Obetz New Water Tower

Prairie Township Phase three Continuation Federal Nexus and Financial Disclosure.pdf

Funding Requested: $3,500,000

Project Summary: The City of Obetz is at a pivotal moment of growth and development. Our commitment to ensuring the well-being of our residents and supporting the expansion of local businesses and industries is unwavering. The replacement of the outdated water tower is not merely an infrastructure upgrade; it is a necessary step towards securing a sustainable future for Obetz. A new, modern water tower will provide the capacity needed to meet current and future demands, comply with health and environmental standards, and enhance our resilience to emergencies. The current water tower which is 43 years old, constructed in 1981, has been a symbol of our commitment to providing essential services to our residents. However, as we have monitored and evaluated its condition and capacity against our growing population and evolving needs, it has become increasingly clear that this aging infrastructure is no longer capable of meeting the standards required for safety, efficiency, and reliability. The structure’s deteriorating condition not only poses a significant risk to the quality of water but also to the overall health and safety of our community.
