WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Rep. Mike Carey (R-Ohio-15), a member of the House Ways and Means Committee, voted to advance his bipartisan NO BOSS Act, which he introduced with U.S. Rep. Greg Landsman (D-Ohio-01), out of the Ways and Means Committee during a markup hearing.

The bill passed unanimously (41-0) out of committee and now awaits a vote by the full U.S. House of Representatives.

“Our bipartisan NO BOSS Act will accomplish three simple goals: help more Americans start small businesses, grow the economy, and achieve the American Dream. I was proud to lead this bill through the Ways and Means Committee and thank my colleagues for their support. I now encourage all my colleagues in the House to pass it and get this legislation signed into law,” Rep. Carey said.

“Congress has an important role to play in encouraging entrepreneurship, removing unnecessary barriers to employment, and building new pathways to economic independence,” U.S. Rep. Jason Smith (R-Mo.-08), Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, said. “That’s exactly what the NO BOSS Act does by expanding opportunities for unemployed workers to create jobs for themselves and strengthen local economies. I thank Representative Carey for his leadership on this bipartisan bill and for being a consistent champion for workers and jobs creators in Ohio and across America.”
