Internet Crimes Against Children Infrastructure Project

  • Project Summary: The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force funding will enhance digital forensic infrastructure in order to expand the secure processing and storage capacity required to investigate child exploitation crimes. This project will increase the Sheriff’s Office’s ability to analyze large volumes of digital evidence collected during investigations and securely store that evidence for prosecutorial use.

Hilltop Opportunity & Workforce Initiative

By combining work experience, career-technical learning, mentoring, and employer engagement, this initiative directly addresses the root causes of disengagement and risk behaviors.

Agricultural Research Equipment Modernization Project

  • Project Summary: The Western Agricultural Research Station, operated by The Ohio State University College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences, would use the funding to modernize soybean research equipment used in applied, field-scale production research. This funding would update aging equipment and allow researchers to evaluate soybean management decisions under real-world conditions that mirror those faced by producers.

Lockbourne Environmental Restoration & Resource Conservation Project

  • Project Summary: The Lockbourne Environmental Restoration & Resource Conservation Project will address flooding, erosion, and habitat degradation within the Big Walnut Creek floodplain by installing a new ditch system behind homes, reducing soil erosion at the park entrance and nearby slopes, and stabilizing soils throughout the deteriorating historic canal system. The project further enhances conservation of natural resources across the floodplain and improves connectivity between the Village’s park system and the regional Metro Park.

Timberlake Water Distribution System Replacement Project

  • Project Summary: The Timberlake Water Distribution System Replacement Project is focused on replacing water mains and pipes that contain asbestos and lead. This funding would be used to replace all water mains, valves, and hydrants, as well as equip the existing water tower with a new supervisory control and data acquisition system at the Timberlake Water Distribution System. This will benefit hundreds of single-family homes that rely on this water distribution system for safe water.

Lockbourne Road Corridor Safety & Reliability Roundabout

  • Project Summary – The City of Obetz requests Community Project Funding assistance to construct a modern roundabout at the intersection of Lockbourne Road and Rathmell Road, replacing the existing signalized intersection. The project improves safety and travel-time reliability on Lockbourne Road, a key north–south corridor intended to function as a parallel workforce-and-services route between two heavily traveled freight corridors—U.S. Route 23 and Alum Creek Drive. The project aims to separate commuter and service traffic from heavy trucks by strengthening the parallel route and improving intersection safety.

Rohr Road at Lockbourne Road Roundabout

  • Project Summary – This project will improve traffic flow and safety for the drivers and passengers of the more than 5600 vehicles that travel through the intersection every day. Around 10% of these vehicles are semi-trucks, compared to the typical 2%. The project will also extend an existing shared-use path on Rohr Road and improve drainage in the area. Lockbourne Road is an important north-south corridor that serves an area of economic growth in central Ohio.

Demolition and Redevelopment of SE Corner of Front and Mound Streets

  • Project Summary – The Franklin County Board of Commissioners requests Community Project Funding in the amount of $7 million for demolition and site-enabling work of a county-owned building on the corner of Front and Mound Streets. The building on this site, which used to serve as the downtown jail, has been vacant for years, and is attached to the larger Franklin County Government Center. This prime location sits near the Front Street Bridge, which is the gateway between the downtown core and German Village. Eventually, the Commissioners intend to transform this site into a childcare center to provide a much-needed childcare option for the downtown workforce, and to provide a safe, short-term drop-off childcare option for families interacting with the court system.

Brown Road from Frank Road to Stimmel Road/Linnet Avenue

  • Project Summary – The planned reconstruction of Brown Road between Frank Road and Stimmel Road/Linnet Avenue will address existing infrastructure needs and provide a smoother, more reliable travel experience for all users. A key feature of the project is the construction of a mini roundabout to replace the traffic signal at the Brown Road and Hopkins Avenue intersection. This change is expected to reduce vehicle conflict points and improve traffic flow, thereby decreasing the frequency and severity of crashes within the corridor. In addition to roadway improvements, the project includes the installation of a shared use path and sidewalks, offering dedicated spaces for pedestrians and other vulnerable road users. The inclusion of curb and gutter further enhances drainage and roadway safety, contributing to a safer and more accessible environment.

Piqua Courts

  • Project Summary – The City of Piqua is requesting funding to support critical public infrastructure improvements for the Piqua Courts redevelopment project, located at the former Piqua Center mall site near the Interstate 75 and U.S. Route 36 interchange. Funds will be used for the installation of new water and sanitary sewer infrastructure will support future roadway improvements and residential development in front of the Piqua Center site. These improvements are designed to ensure sufficient water and sewer capacity for the proposed workforce housing development. The project will also reconstruct approximately 1,600 feet of Center Court roadway to include the construction of a new roundabout and associated roadway infrastructure improvements.

Central Ohio Regional Advanced Manufacturing & Automation Talent Accelerator

The requested funds will be dedicated to constructing, finishing, and equipping specialized labs and instructional spaces that support advanced manufacturing, industrial maintenance, automation, and robotics training. Funding will support construction and build-out costs for purpose-designed workforce labs, including structural modifications, utilities and power upgrades, ventilation, safety systems, and interior finishes required to safely operate industrial equipment.

Quail Creek Boulevard Extension

The project includes new roadway construction; a roundabout at Hoover Road; asphalt shared use paths; concrete sidewalks; street lighting; a water main; and modern stormwater management infrastructure. Funding this project will support the planned development of the Southwest Regional Innovation and Medical Gateway by the City of Grove City will support technology-based facilities, flexible commercial and medical spaces, offices, institutional uses, research and development operations, and light industrial activity.

The Emerald Connector in Dublin

Located in a high opportunity community with strong transit access, employment opportunities and amenities, the project expands affordable housing options in an area that is largely inaccessible to low- and moderate-income households. The development will create 75 affordable apartment homes for households earning 0%–80% of Area Median Income, including deeply affordable units set aside for adults with disabilities and a preference for older adults on fixed incomes, along with workforce housing for families and individuals

Hilliard Rome Road Grade Separation Project

The highway-rail grade crossing improvement project that will install a grade-separation on a new roadway just west of the current at-grade crossing (513244C) on Hilliard Rome Road.

Transit Stop Infrastructure Improvements Supporting Columbus City Schools Access

This request will improve 17 transit stops within OH-15 district for 9th – 12th graders in the CCS school district who have indicated they plan to use COTA to get to and from school. These locations were selected based on proximity to CCS high schools, existing ridership levels, and infrastructure need.

Bluegrass Boulevard Phase 4 Roadway Improvements

In addition, connecting Bluegrass to state route 41 can open up 2,000 more acres for development.

Intersection – Roberts Road at Frazell Road and Spindler Road

This project will address the intersection safety concerns by constructing two compact urban roundabouts to guide cars more safely through the intersection. It will also construct a shared use path from Brookford Drive to Willow Glen Road and sidewalk along Spindler Road to Brookmont Drive.

Edison State Community College Engineering and Manufacturing Lab Modernization

US 42 Force Main to Plain City Project

  • Project Summary: This funding will be used for the construction of a regional wastewater conveyance system including 14 miles of sanitary sewers and 4 lift stations to address urgent capacity and service gaps driven by rapid residential, commercial, and industrial growth. Reliable wastewater infrastructure directly impacts the health and well-being of the effected residents. As it stands, the independent wastewater systems create an unmonitored and uncontrolled waste stream. By investing in this project, the affected area will have a properly staffed, operated, and regulated wastewater treatment plant, keeping residents and local waterways healthy.
