Mike Carey Statement Opposing Democrat Attempt to Nationalize Elections

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Mike Carey (OH-15) today voted against Democrats’ attempt to nationalize elections and released the following statement:

“Today I proudly stood on the side of election integrity by voting against Democrats’ attempt to nationalize our elections, hijack state’s rights, and maintain power at all costs,” Congressman Mike Carey said. “Among the many outrageous provisions of this legislation, Democrats would disregard state voter identification laws, legalize ballot harvesting, and authorize billions of tax dollars to fund political campaigns. This unprecedented federal power grab is the true threat to democracy in America and I pray that common sense prevails in the Senate.”
