Tax Relief

After years of stubborn inflation, American families and small businesses need tax relief to make ends meet today and plan for tomorrow.

As a member of the House Ways & Means Committee, I have the privilege of working on tax policy that will impact every household and business in the country. In my role with the committee, I supported extending and expanding necessary tax relief to life up American middle-class families, increase jobs, and increase affordable housing across the country by supporting the House-passed Tax Relief for Americans Workers and Families Act.

We are also tasked renewing the tax cuts established in the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which inspired job creation and business investment that is the envy of the world.

In lead up to the expiration of certain tax provision in TCJA, Ways & Means Chairman Jason Smith formed 10 Committee Tax Teams. These teams are tasked with identifying legislative solutions to help families, workers, and small businesses that are currently struggling due to staggering inflation.

I have been assigned to the Community Development, American Workforce, and Working Families tax teams.

Community Development will focus on policies such as the Historic Tax Credit, and the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit. American Workforce is focusing on the tax policy to develop policies to protect and support American workforce. The Working Families team will focus on tax provisions to support families that are currently facing financial challenges with inflation and the rising costs of daily living.
