Washington, D.C. – Congressman Mike Carey today released the following statement regarding President Biden’s announcement that the United States will no longer import Russian oil:
“The Biden Administration is late to the game. We should have banned imports of Russian oil weeks ago. Now to fill the void, Biden is engaging with two brutal regimes in Venezuela and Iran.
We need to stop this madness and make America energy independent again. This President’s decisions to leave American oil reserves in the ground, cancel the Keystone XL pipeline, and impose a regulatory agenda that makes it harder and more expensive to produce American energy have put us in harm’s way and greatly contributed to the record-high gas prices we see today.”
