Carey Announces $25 Million Grant for Road Improvement, Bridge Replacements in Franklin County

Jul 17, 2025 | Press Releases

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Rep. Mike Carey (R-Ohio-15) announced a $25 million Better Utilizing Investments to Leverage Development (BUILD) grant award from the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) to Franklin County Engineer. This grant will support a project that will replace two bridges along Alum Creek Drive and widen the road to reduce the traffic burden connecting State Route 317 and Groveport Road.

Part of this funding was made available through Fiscal Year 2025 (FY25) appropriations, which Rep. Carey supported.

“I am thrilled to see $25 million that I helped secure reach Franklin County. This money will be a direct benefit for our residents by adding a third lane each way on Alum Creek Drive and making it easier for residents to get between SR-317 and Groveport Road,” Rep. Carey said. “I was proud to support the bill that provided these funds, and I look forward to seeing how it improves our infrastructure in central Ohio.”

Full grant details can be found below:
