COLUMBUS, OHIO – Today, U.S. Rep. Mike Carey (R-Ohio-15) released a video honoring fallen U.S. service members ahead of the observance of Memorial Day on Monday, May 26, 2025.
A full transcript of Rep. Carey’s remarks can be found below:
“Our nation’s greatness was built by the countless men and women who have answered the call of duty to protect our freedoms.
“From our very founding, our country has seen generations of patriots fight to protect our way of life.
“This Memorial Day, we solemnly remember all the service members who fought and died so that we might live free.
“Their courage and sacrifice represent the very best of our nation, as they offered what President Lincoln described as the ‘last full measure of devotion.’
“As we honor our fallen this Memorial Day, I encourage all my fellow Ohioans and Americans to take a moment to reflect and offer gratitude for the men and women who died in the service to our nation.
“And as we move forward, I ask that we come together and renew our resolve to live a life worthy of their tremendous sacrifice.
“May God bless the fallen, their families, and America. Thank you.”
