COLUMBUS, Ohio–Today, Congressman Mike Carey (OH-15) released the following statement on Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose’s lawsuit against the Biden-Harris administration over their denial of access to federal citizenship records. “Democracy doesn’t take place behind closed doors. When Americans go to the ballot box next week, they must know unequivocally that their votes are being counted fairly and transparently. Early access to the Systematic Alien Verification and Entitlements (SAVE) database has revealed hundreds of non-citizens on our state’s voter rolls. It is imperative that Secretary of State LaRose has access to the records his office needs to verify voter eligibility. We applaud his efforts to continually uphold Ohio as a gold standard of election integrity.” |
