Columbus, OH – Congressman Mike Carey (R-OH) welcomed Honda’s announcement on Tuesday morning to bring more manufacturing jobs into Central Ohio through an expansive plan to invest in pre-existing manufacturing facilities and build a new facility in Fayette County.
“I’m thrilled that Honda has once again committed to Ohio and our workers with today’s announcement of a $3.5 billion dollar investment in EV production and a new battery plant within Ohio’s 15th Congressional District,” said Rep. Carey.“Fayette County is the perfect place to welcome this new plant and I look forward to working Honda and LG Energy Solution to bring 2,200 new jobs to the Buckeye State.”
Honda’s plan includes a $700 million dollar investment for EV production at existing plants, a new $3.5 billion dollar EV battery plant in Fayette County and is estimated to create 2,200 new jobs. You can read more about Honda’s announcement here.
